Deeg Museum (Rajasthan)
Deeg Museum has been organized with the collection of articles, furnitures etc used by the Maharaja of Deeg and his family members. There are now 547 documented articles in the collection. Best among them are on display in Gopal Bhavan and Kishan Bhavan.
The Gopal Bhawan housing major portion of the museum is one of the largest and most imposing of all the buildings built within the Deeg palace complex. Maharaja Surajmal built Kishan Bhavan and Gopal Bhavan during 1756 – 63 AD. The objects displayed in the galleries include the main hall, Man Singh hall, English and Indian dining halls, Maharaja’s bedroom, ADC room, Billards room, Maharaja’s room, Queen’s and Zanana apartments of Gopal Bhavan, An imposing sandalwood sculpture of Lord Venugopal greets the visitors. Other objects include the cigarette case and scent case of elephant legs, wooden hand driven coller, old furnitures, Persian carpets and crockery
