GUPTA INSCRIPTION, SARANATH, DISTRICT VARANASI

This pillar inscription is now preserved at the store-house of the Saranath Museum. It is in Sanskrit language and Brahmi characters of about the 5th century A.D. It refers to the reign of Budhagupta who may be identified with the imperial Gupta King of that name. It is worn out and details lost.
