STONE INSCRIPTION, HAJO, DISTRICT SONITPUR
This inscription is fixed on the gateway (torana) of the Hayagriva – Madhava temple, Hajo. The record is executed in Saka 1602 (1780 A.D.) and is written in Assamese characters and language. It states that one Ramjay Rajkhowa, the son of Paniphukan and grandson of Phul-Barua dedicated the services of three persons, Shri Krishnacharan, Sonaphuli and Medhacharan to the temple of Madhava after making payment of Rupees sixty per each person.
