YADAVA INSCRIPTION, SILLOD, DISTRICT AURANGABAD
This inscription, engraved on the left side wall of the mandapa of Banesvar temple, is in Nagari characters and Sanskrit language. It belongs to the reign of king Singhanadeva of Yadava dynasty and is dated in Saka 1152 (1230 A.D.). It records the construction of a Siva temple along with a well for the emancipation
(Siva-loka-prapti) of his wife Vamadevi by Palhana, who was a Chief Accountant
(mahakaranika) and son of pandita Damodara belonging to Gauda lineage. Also records grant of some lands to this deity.
